All Woodbridge Township Schools will be full remote on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, to accommodate Primary Voting.

All Woodbridge Township schools will be closed beginning Friday, May 28, 2021, through and including Tuesday, June 1. All schools are scheduled to re-open on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

Highlights from the 5/20/21 Board Meeting: • Board President, Marie Anderson, and Board Member, Daniel Harris, achieved the status of Certificated Board Member by the NJSBA. • 168 district High School students inducted into the National Honor Society. • 40 district High School students received the Seal of Biliteracy from the NJ Dept. of Education. • 256 district Middle School students inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. • 7 district Middle School students received the National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award Scholarship sponsored by NASSP and NJHS. • Andrew Ferreira achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. • Thalia Santiago-Ortiz selected as the winner in the 2021 Mother’s Day Contest sponsored by the Corner Newspaper. • 11 district Middle School students participated in the Junior Youth in Government Day. • Submission of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 2006 Grant in the amount of $80,451.00 • Pre-K ESL Program approved at School #24 for the 2021-2022 school year. • LEAP Program approved at School #29 from 6/21 thru 6/30. • Shared Service Agreements with the Township of Woodbridge for communications systems maintenance; and for a part-time grant writer for 2021-2022. • Athletes from CHS honored for their outstanding performances in academics and athletics in various 2021 Winter Sports. • Coach Sandra Chiera selected as the Greater Middlesex White Division Coach of the Year in Girls Basketball for the Winter of 2021. • Coach Joseph Rotella selected as the Greater Middlesex Conference Coach of the Year in Ice Hockey for the Winter of 2021. • The Senior Olympics Organization of NJ will hold their annual event on 9/10, 9/11 and 9/12 at WHS and WMS. • Use and Occupancy Agreements between the Colonia Girls’ Softball League and the Little Fellow League of Colonia. • Bus Evacuation Drills conducted.

Families from Woodbridge Township School District's Title I schools recently participated in a virtual Math Family Workshop. A committee of teachers created tutorial videos to enable families to participate at their leisure. Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order 173, there may be capacity limits on the number of people who may attend this Board Meeting in-person in order to maintain social distancing guidelines. As a result, the meeting will be streamed live on Channel 35 and those residents who are unable to attend in-person may e-mail their public comments to superintendent@woodbridge.k12.nj.us until the end of the Meeting. Johnson, from JFK HS, for being selected by the NJSIAA National Girls & Women in Sports as the outstanding female athlete for 2020-2021 • Submission of the tentative proposed 2021-2022 budget in the amount of $300,626,628. • Corrective actions on Audit Recommendations placed in effect. • Request County approval to transfer $700,000 to purchase laptops for all education staff members. • Submission of the ERIC North Grant Application for building security, safety, and safety equipment and training. • Excel Environmental Services contracted for consulting services related to the proposed new Avenel Elementary School • Payment of $489,350 to Apple, Inc., covering the remaining two year contract for proprietary Apple products. • Karbone, Inc. contracted for brokerage services related to SREC sales. • Resolution determining format & details of $37,718,000 school bonds, series 2021. • AECOM authorized to advertise and procure bids for the new Avenel Elementary School. • Hazmat Diagnostic LLC contracted for asbestos abatement services at School #18. • Commercial Interiors Direct contracted to furnish and install new flooring in the all purpose room at School #18. • Contract awarded to purchase 2021 Ford Explorer for the Security Office.
