Today we celebrate National Johnny Appleseed Day.
Please see Mrs. Wanko or your language arts teacher if you would like to join IMS Book Club. We will be meeting virtually on Monday nights via Google Meet. Free books are available. Our first book is Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo
Beginning Tuesday, October 1st, extra help for math will be available. It will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30-8:00 am. 8th grade help will be in room 411, 7th grade in room 307 and 6th grade in room 511. Students who attend must come with specific questions/topics that they would like help with.
All band students please visit the hallway outside of room 606 to pick up several forms for your parents.
Anyone interested in Drama Club, permission slips are due tomorrow!
Astronomy club’s first meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 1st after school in Room 506. Open to all 6th grade students and 7th and 8th grade students who have not attended in the past. See Mrs. Senatore’s Google Sites Astronomy page for more information.

Are you ready IMS? The 4 V 4 Soccer Tournament is here and will take place on Thursday, October 10th. Grab some friends and make a team. Information, permission slips and rosters can be found in the Cafeteria on the table under the bulletin board or on our IMS website. The team fee to play is 10 dollars and it is free to attend and cheer on your favorite team! All money, rosters and permission slips must be turned in no later than Monday, October 7th. Hope to see you all there!

If you’re interested in joining Community Council, come to our meeting at 7:50 tomorrow morning in room 312.
The IMS Block Party will take place next Thursday September 26 during periods 5 and 6. Return your permission slip and money to your homeroom teacher ASAP so you don’t miss out!
We will also be running a dodgeball tournament during the block party. Get a team of 5 together and return your money and team roster ASAP. Remember, you must ALSO pay to attend the block party. Only the first 8 teams will be able to participate.

Sunday marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month! Let’s kick off the celebration by showing your pride with a Hispanic flag tomorrow. Wear clothes, or a hat with a Hispanic flag, or the colors of a Hispanic flag. Details on other themed days and events can be found on your grade level’s Google Classroom.
Study Hall is now open for sign-ups. Study Hall will take place during your lunch period in the Guidance office Monday through Thursday. You must sign-up using the Google Form in your grade-level Google classroom. We can only accept the first 10 students who sign up. You also must bring your own lunch. Any questions, see your counselor.
Select Choir Rehearsals will not start today. All choir members, please come to your regular choir rehearsal tomorrow morning. Bring your slip if you haven’t yet and you will also hear more about Select Choir.

Today we celebrate National Share Your Care Day.
The Middlesex County Magnet Schools will be hosting a presentation on Wednesday, September 18th at 6pm at the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School Auditorium. This is a districtwide event and is open to all 7th and 8th grade families who are interested in attending.
Today is the start of Movement Mondays at IMS. The purpose of movement mondays is to support our Mental Health. Movement can help reduce stress, depression, anxiety and increase your overall well being. Rock your best exercise clothes every Monday and pledge to move your body for a few minutes at the beginning of every class period!
